Awards & Scholarships

Don’t miss the opportunity to honor your colleagues with a Society of California Archivists award!

Every year SCA honors individual archivists and archival organizations with awards for outstanding service, achievements, or contributions to our profession. Awards are presented at the Annual General Meeting, where we celebrate and acknowledge the deserving recipients. Take a moment to read about all of our awards, and please consider making a nomination or two.

Awards

Archives Appreciation Award - recognizes organizations, agencies, or institutions which support archival programs.

Career Achievement Award - honors those whose archival career has been outstanding.

Sustained Service Award - recognizes SCA members who have given long-time service to SCA.

Scholarships

James V. Mink Scholarship - helps pay AGM expenses for new archivists and students attending the AGM.

Advancing Equity: Graduate Education Scholarship - financial support to students of color pursuing graduate archival education.

Advancing Equity: Continuing Education Funding - assists with professional development funding for archivists of color and archival education progam funding for community archives.

Walter P. Gray III Scholarship - helps pay workshop expenses in California or online.

Lynn A. Bonfield Professional Development Scholarship - helps pay non-SCA-sponsored in-person workshop expenses.
