Do you work with archives? The Society of California Archivists (SCA) is a nonprofit statewide professional organization with a diverse membership of archivists, records managers, and others who collect, care for, and provide access to the documentary heritage of California and adjoining areas.
SCA is committed to the use, preservation, and retention of archival material. We provide professional development and educational opportunities for our members and encourage public interest and support for archival facilities and projects.
Each year, SCA hosts numerous networking and educational events. Key programs include: - The Annual General Meeting - The Western Archives Institute - Educational workshops - Unique member-initiated events
Member benefits include: - Networking and educational opportunities - Discounts on event fees - Access to the SCA roster and member-only events - Individual, institutional, student and retiree rates are available.

To apply for SCA membership through the mail:
- Print out and fill out our Membership Form (email membership@calarchivists.org for mailing address).
To apply for SCA membership online:
- Select your membership level below, click the “Next” button.
- Follow the steps (fill in your profile info, etc.).
- Once your profile info is correct, click the "Next" button.
- Once your payment info is entered, click the "Confirm" button to complete your application.
Note: SCA is currently offering a pay-what-you-can model of membership for archivists who are unemployed, precariously employed, or experiencing financial hardship. When joining or renewing, please click the "Invoice Me" option when you get to the payment portal, and fill out this Pay-What-You-Can Request Form with the amount you are paying.
