Fall Workshop Week
Making the Most of the Intern: Working With and Managing Students, Interns, and Volunteers
The new normal is utilizing students, interns, and volunteers in our archives. Join some archivists with experience on these topics for a two-part educational session.
In the morning, Liza Posas, Head Librarian/Archivist of the Braun Research Library, the Autry National Center, and LA as Subject Coordinator, will present a workshop on managing unpaid workers, including about developing a work plan, managing expectations, match-making the person and the project, and mentoring.
In the afternoon, Joanne Lammers, Director of the Archive at the Writers Guild Foundation will lead a panel discussion on these topics. Panelists are Jackie Dooley, Program Officer for OCLC Research and Immediate Past President of SAA; Chaitra Powell of the Mayme A. Clayton Library and Museum; and Liza Posas. Questions from the audience will be encouraged!

The Walter P. Gray III Education Endowment Fund Scholarship offers funds up to $200 for registration and travel to SCA workshops.
