Sign-ups for repository tours will open on Monday, February 10 and will be posted on this page.

All tours are scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 and each tour will be no longer than 2 hours. Sites include the Autry Resources Center, Burbank Historical Society, Disney Archives, and NBC Universal.

Autry Resources Center


Time: 10am-12pm

Description

The Autry Museum’s Resources Center is a state-of-the-art collections stewardship, educational, and research facility located in Burbank to protect and preserve the Autry’s extensive collections, including those once housed at the historic Southwest Museum. The LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building includes a reading room, tribal community spaces and collections care rooms. Landscaping and ceremonial gardens were designed by Costello Kennedy Landscape Architecture, with active input from Southern California Native community members.

At the Resources Center, Native community members, researchers, students, teachers, and artists can access the more than 600,000 artifacts, cultural materials, artworks, and library materials cared for in the collections of the Autry Museum. 

Driving & Transportation

The Autry Resources Center is located in Burbank, approximately 5 miles from the Garland Hotel. 

Public transit: There is no easy or quick bus route from the conference hotel. However, for those who will be travelling via the Metrolink, the Autry Resource Center is approx. one mile from the Metrolink Station located in Downtown Burbank station

Parking: On-site, gated, free

More information about parking and ride-share drop off will be sent to tour attendees.

Burbank Historical Society


Time: 1:30-3:30pm
Max: 30 people
Entrance fee: $5 per person, attendees to pay organization directly at site

Driving & Transportation

The Burbank Historical Society in the George Izay Park located in Burbank, approximately 5 miles from the Garland Hotel. Please note that the address listed above is the address for the Burbank Historical Society’s main entrance- use that address for GPS and rideshare.

Public transit: There is no easy or quick bus route from the conference hotel. It is best to carpool or take a ride-share.

Parking: On-site and free. BHS shares a public parking area with the public park.

Accessibility 

This tour will include standing and walking. The historic Mentzer House, built in 1887, is part of the tour and includes 3 steps with no ramp. Access to the archives includes a flight of stairs that includes a chair lift.
